Introducing Kodak Picture CD Version 5.2 With Enhanced Feature

A new version of Kodak Picture CD will be available from September 2002, with expanded features that offer consumers more choices and sharing possibilities through e-mail than ever before.

With digital services penetration essentially doubling in 2001, Kodak has become the industry leader in this new and growing photo category. Not only does the category bring many of the advantages of digital to the traditional film-using consumer, it also has resulted in significant profit opportunities for participating retailers. Previous Kodak research has shown that Kodak Picture CD consumers are extremely satisfied with a very high repurchase rate.

This latest version Kodak Picture CD provides high-resolution images and all the software needed to enhance pictures and share through e-mail.

Features of Kodak Picture CD 5.2 include:
Improved User Interface:

• Easy-to-understand command icons and pull down menus
• User-friendly directions for all levels of Picture CD users

New and Improved Share Features:

• A new and improved address book that let consumers send favourite pictures as an e-mail attachment to family and friends quickly and easily
• Facility to combine a picture and text to create a Picture Postcard

Picture Enhancements:

• Enhance pictures by removing red-eye, cropping or applying a fun effect or add a caption to pictures

Extras:

• Explore all of the possibilities of digital pictures with tips and articles plus information about the Kodak Picture CD, preferences, etc.

"Kodak continues to look for ways to make the consumer experience even better," said Dieter Werkhausen, General Manager, Consumer Digital Services, Consumer Imaging, Eastman Kodak SA, Geneva. "With the release of the new Kodak Picture CD, our key focus has been to improve the total picture sharing experience for the consumer. Kodak is empowering consumers to capture their most important moments through film and share those pictures easily with friends and family through e-mail."

Kodak plans to launch an aggressive marketing and advertising campaign in June 2002, to educate consumers on the ease of sharing pictures through e-mail with Kodak Picture CD.
