Kodak Announces Enhancements to PACS Link Network Connectivity Products

Eastman Kodak Company has announced new features for its PACS Link network connectivity software, which is designed to enhance printing capabilities with its Kodak DirectView CR (Computed Radiography) and DR (Digital Radiography) Systems.

The new PACS Link features enhance workflow and automate routine tasks. Referred to as PACS Link Release C, these new features include:

  • Landscape format printing support for all Kodak DryView Laser Imagers
  • Increased flexibility to accommodate mixed image sizes and more flexible CR image/text placement
  • Multiple film text boxes for patient and exam information originating from Kodak DirectView DR Systems
  • Support for Western Europe and Japanese text box characters; and
  • Support for larger text box printing fonts for easier reading.

Text box information printed at the bottom of the film can include site name, site location, modality names and model, and page number of the study.

A DICOM print network creates the foundation for digital imaging technologies, including CR, DR and PACS. PACS Link solutions play a key role in Kodak's flexible migration path to digital technologies by transmitting imaging studies to any imager, or any device, on the network. Some facilities use these networked devices to route images to workstations for soft copy review or to digital storage devices as they implement a PACS. The portfolio's open architecture integrates with existing equipment and protects each customer's investment.
PACS Link-configured imagers optimize utilization of existing modalities by integrating non-DICOM modalities into DICOM networks and enhance the efficiency of network printing.

Note: Kodak, DirectView and DryView are trade marks
