Kodak Reinforces Commitment To Digital Imaging At UKRC
The Kodak stand, No.1, at this year's UKRC will see Kodak's Health Imaging Division clearly underscore its commitment to a digital imaging future. Amongst many exciting innovative solutions on show will be the latest developments for an integrated PACS and RIS platform and new web browsing technologies for distribution and remote viewing of images over the Internet. Precise imaging through digital capture can be seen at its best with Kodak computed radiography (CR) equipment plus the latest addition to Kodak's family of laser imagers.
PACS/RIS Integration
During recent years Kodak has invested significantly in new technology, which combines PACS and RIS in a modular integrated system. This provides a complete workflow solution by integrating the image, stored by the PACS system and patient demographic information supplied by the RIS. The PACS System can then have the current and historical patient images on hand for review, based on the appointment and other information supplied by the RIS.
Distributed Medical Imaging
Kodak DirectView Web Distribution System enables hospitals to significantly extend the reach of PACS by rapidly distributing diagnostic reports and referral images over the Web. The system is cost-effective as it uses off-the-shelf Web technologies and can help improve radiology services and patient care by delivering reports and images more quickly and more efficiently. High quality electronically distributed images provide excellent reference for reports helping to communicate the exact nature of findings or assist in clarifying telephone conversations.
Digital Capture Solutions
Kodak has recently introduced a number of innovative new features for the DirectView CR Systems that facilitate improved workflow and enhanced productivity for better patient care. On show will be the Kodak DirectView CR800 system, which is ideal for distributed CR applications. This single cassette system provides all the requirements for CR image processing, reprocessing, quality-assurance review and automatic network forwarding.
Output Options
Kodak DryView Laser Imaging Systems are the industry's most comprehensive family of true dry laser imagers. On show will be the Kodak DryView 8200 Laser Imager, which is ideal for general radiology and mid-volume CR and DR applications. Its true dry laser technology offers sharp, precise laser imaging and optimal laser greyscale reproduction for excellent diagnostic quality.
Viewing Solutions
Both the Kodak AutoRad Primary Diagnostic Workstation and Clinical Diagnostic Workstation will be demonstrated on the Kodak stand. These workstations address the needs of radiologists by providing hanging protocols for each user, bookmarks and side-by-side paging to optimise the efficiency and accuracy in viewing comparative studies.
"This year's UKRC will see us demonstrate a number of digital imaging workflow solutions from PACS and RIS, to reporting and image distribution via the Web," said Chris Briggs, Business Manager for Kodak's Health Imaging Division in the UK and Ireland. "We are committed to meeting the evolving needs of our customers, so whether it's a film or digital solution, or a combination of the two, our product portfolio can provide the solution as they move into the digital world."
Kodak, DirectView, AutoRad and DryView are trade marks.
