A graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, Declan's qualifications include a BSc in Engineering and a Diploma in Marketing. He started his career with Rank Xerox as a Software Engineer, moving to Sony two years later as a Graduate Trainee in Marketing and Sales. A spell as Business Development Executive saw him responsible for the introduction of the first range of professional digital stills cameras to the UK and Sony's re-entry into the CCTV market.
Promotion followed two years later to the post of Assistant Marketing Manager where he marketed dictation machines and latterly Product Marketing Manager responsible for all low end broadcast products. As part of this role he oversaw the introduction of DVCAM digital video products establishing Sony as market leader.
The challenge of managing financial restructuring for future growth led him to move from Sony to Prime Television in 2001 followed by his move to Kodak in April this year.
"We are delighted to welcome someone of Declan's calibre to the team and I am sure he will play a pivotal role as Kodak becomes a major player in the digital photofinishing market," said Steve Lawes, Marketing Manager, Output and Services, Kodak's Consumer Imaging Division. "Giving retailers more ways to tap into the expanding digital market is one of Kodak's top priorities and I look forward to working with Declan to drive the business forward."
