20,000 and Counting
Leeds General Infirmary was the venue for a party this month when Kodak Limited made a special presentation as part of worldwide celebrations to mark the production and shipment of Kodak’s 20,000th dry laser imager. The hospital was the first in the UK to install the technology back in the early ‘90s and today has ten installed in the Radiology department.
To mark this tremendous milestone Kodak Health Imaging Division’s Phil Ferrar,
Martin Stewart and Andrew Robson, presented the Radiology department with a state-of-the-art Kodak digital camera and commemorative certificate. Superintendent Radiographer Brenda Mostyn, cut the specially produced birthday cake which was enjoyed by all.
Kodak launched dry laser imaging systems for medical printing in 1995, and while other companies have dry printing technologies, they are several product generations behind. Kodak DryView laser imagers and film have been optimised based on input from thousands of customers around the world, and Kodak continues to incorporate customer suggestions into its new generations of film and imagers.
Kodak offers a wide variety of printing solutions including direct-to-modality and networked imagers. It continues to enhance its portfolio with new products that fit specific needs. For example, the Kodak DryView 8610 laser imager is the benchmark for film output in digital mammography applications, the DryView 8200 laser imager offers tremendous flexibility in CR environments and the DryView 8700 laser imager is so reliable it has been called “bulletproof” by customers.
Kodak DryView systems are true laser imagers that feature excellent gray scale and superb, continuous tone. When used in conjunction with Kodak laser imaging film, the resulting archival images should last for more than 100 years. Kodak's family of DryView laser imagers also offers Kodak's Automatic Image Quality Control (AIQC) system.
Kodak also provides a gateway to PACS with PACS Link configurations to enable imagers to convert modality images to DICOM and receive DICOM image data over a network for fast, flexible film output wherever it is needed.
Kodak and DryView are trade marks of Kodak
