Kodak To The Rescue
Huge disruption to A&E was averted recently at Whiston Hospital, part of St Helens and Knowsley Hospitals NHS Trust, thanks to Kodak.
One black Monday in September saw a flood in the department destroying two Kodak CR400s used for image capture and a DryView Laser Imager. Radiography Manager, Dave Anwyl, made a call to Kodak and by Wednesday of the same week a Kodak DirectView CR 800 and replacement DryView had been installed so that A&E could continue to function. That led to the hospital making the decision to replace equipment and within three weeks Kodak had re-installed two state-of-the-art DirectView CR 900s with the addition of a ClinicalAccess server for image distribution.
“The flood caused major disruption to our A&E X-ray rooms and CT/MRI department. Through the speedy intervention and excellent support from Kodak we were able to re-establish an emergency service within the A&E department within
48 hours and completely replace all damaged imaging and PACS components in record time.”
Kodak, DirectView and ClinicalAccess are trade marks.
