New Software Kit Adds Functionality to Kodak i9600 Series Writers

Eastman Kodak Company has announced that its new Kodak i9600 Application Software Kit is now shipping to customers worldwide. The software kit, which includes Archive Writer Interface Software (AWIS) V3.1 and Kodak Electronic Microimager Software, provides additional functionality to the Kodak i9600 Series Writers, including an advanced three-level indexing feature and a seamless integration of Kodak Capture Software with the i9600 Series Writers.

These digital film writers, the i9610 and i9620, accept digital files and write them to Kodak Reference Archive Media (microfilm) specifically designed to record digital images. The media is LE 500 certified to help ensure images remain crisp, clear, and readable over time.

The i9600 Application Software kit includes the following:

Archive Writer Interface Software V3.1
AWIS V3.1 enables the transfer of image files from source document management systems to the i9600 Series Writers. It also manages the image formatting and indexing during the digital-to-analog film writing process. AWIS V3.1 offers enhanced functionality and productivity. Three-level indexing is fully supported, allowing for efficient indexing and retrieval of images from Reference Archive Media.

Kodak Electronic Microimager Software
This client-server software provides an interface between Kodak Capture Software and the i9600 Series Writers. The Kodak Electronic Microimager Software leverages Kodak Capture Software’s multiple batch-output formats for compatibility with popular imaging and content management systems. The roll-frame address is automatically updated in Kodak Capture Software’s index information transfer file, eliminating the need for manual rectification of multiple system indexes. This enables one-step integration with a content management system.
