Printer Driver for WINDOWS 2000 Operating System

The printer driver allows you to print from a WINDOWS 2000 Operating System to the KODAK Photo Printer 6850.

The 5x7 Borderless Driver allows you to print 5x7-inch borderless prints. You must install the KODAK Photo Printer 6850 5R Borderless Conversion Kit to use the 5x7 Borderless Driver.

Download and Installation Information

  1. Choose a driver download, then save the file to a location that is easy to access, such as your computer's desktop.
  2. Double-click the .exe file. When the WinZip Self-Extractor screen appears, select a folder then click UnZip.
  3. To install the 6850 Printer Driver:
    1. Double-click the 68xx_Driver_v212A folder.
    2. Double-click the setup.exe file, select your language and follow the instructions to complete the installation.
  4. To install the 6850 5x7 Borderless Driver:
    1. Double-click the v2.1.2Release04 folder, then read the information in the Installer Internal Release Notes.rtf file.
    2. Double-click the Web Release folder.
    3. Double-click the setup.exe file, select your language, and follow the instructions to complete the installation.

Printer Driver for WINDOWS XP, VISTA, and SERVER 2003 Operating Systems

The printer driver allows you to print from a WINDOWS XP, VISTA, or SERVER 2003 Operating System to the KODAK Photo Printer 6850.

The 5x7 Borderless Driver allows you to print 5x7-inch borderless prints. You must install the KODAK Photo Printer 6850 5R Borderless Conversion Kit to use the 5x7 Borderless Driver.

Download and Installation Information

  1. Choose a driver download, then save the file to a location that is easy to access, such as your computer's desktop.
  2. To install the 6850 Printer Driver:
    1. Double-click the 68xxInstaller.exe file. When the WinZip Selef-Extractor screen appears, select a folder then click UnZip.
    2. Double-click the 68xxInstallerEnglish folder, then read the information in the ReadMe_Driver.txt file.
    3. Double-click Install_Drv.exe file, then follow the instructions to complete the installation.
  3. To install the 6850 5x7 Borderless Driver:
    1. Double-click the 6850_KPRO_Installer.zip file. When the WinZip Self-Extractor screen appears, select a folder then click UnZip.
    2. Read the information in the ReadMe_Driver.txt file.
    3. Double-click the Install_Drv.exe file to complete the installation.

Printer Firmware

This firmware is the latest version for all 68XX series printers.

Download and Installation Information

  1. Save the file to a location that is easy to access, such as your computer's desktop.
  2. Double-click the 68xx_613_195_308_408.exe file.
  3. When the WinZip Self-Extractor screen appears, select a folder and click UnZip.
  4. Double-click the 68xx_613_195_308_408 folder.
  5. Double-click the Firmware Update Instructions.pdf file, and follow the instructions to complete the installation.

Printer Calibration Installer

For densitometer support, visit the Calibration Installer for Densitometer Support Web Page and download the 6850_Calibration.exe file.

The visual calibration utility allows the user to adjust the levels of cyan, magenta, and yellow dye to create a neutral and correct density from a test print. The software also calculates and downloads a new calibration table to the printer.

Download and Installation Information

  1. Save the file to a location that is easy to access, such as your computer's desktop.
  2. Double-click the Vis_Cal_Inst_v10.exe file.
  3. When the WinZip Self-Extractor screen appears, select a folder and click UnZip.
  4. Double-click the Install_Cal.exe file, select your language, and follow the instructions to complete the installation.
